Update: January 13, 2022
Dear members and friends,
Per the Ventura County Health Officer effective October 18, 2021:
Effective Date and Time. The August 20, 2021, Order of the Ventura County Health Officer has extended the indoor mask order, requiring all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face coverings when indoors in public settings, with limited exceptions.
This order is still in effect to date and unchanged. For the past few weeks there has been a spike in rates of positive infections. Because of the continued concerns with COVID-19 the Simi Valley Art Association has not changed position and will continue to not hold General Meetings until further notice. Our Association did have a successful and safe Open Juried Show in October 2021 with framed artwork displayed at the Atrium located at the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District Activity Center for public viewing. We hope our 2022 art shows will also have public viewing.
We will continue to monitor the County and State requirements and will notify you with updated information.
Sincerely,
Simi Valley Art Association Board

Update: April 9, 2021
Dear members and friends,
Beginning April 7, 2021, the County of Ventura moved into the State’s Orange Tier enabling more businesses to resume with guidelines and capacity limits. This is encouraging; however, the Simi Valley Art Association will continue not to hold in person General Meetings or Art Shows until further notice. We are holding Art Shows virtually including this month with our members only Springtime Art Show 2021. Please see the announcement under events. Normally our Association does not hold general meetings during the summer so the earliest we would consider holding a general meeting would be in September and October for our annual Open Juried Art Show. We will continue to monitor the County and State requirements and will notify you with updated information.

Dear Members and Friends,
As we all are trying to do to keep our social distances and to stay safe in our homes our Association too has taken precautionary actions. As you may have expected we cancelled our General Meeting and demonstration that was scheduled for March 19th. We will also be cancelling any events occurring in April. Depending on how the situation continues we will make announcements in April about our future schedule that includes our annual People’s Choice Show which is usually held in May.
There’s nothing else to report but just to ask all of you to be safe so you, your loved ones, and everyone else can beat this pandemic. Stay healthy and hopefully sooner than later we can all get our lives back to normal.
